Emily and Kent Hathaway are a remarkable couple whose dedication and passion are making a profound impact on children’s lives. Married in 2005, they are the proud parents of four wonderful children: Anya (15), Liam (13), Alec (9), and Hannah (7). In 2010, driven by their desire to extend their positive influence, they founded Speech Pathway, a venture that quickly grew to include a talented team of clinicians by 2012.
Together, Kent and Emily have infused Speech Pathway with love, creativity, and determination. They are unwavering advocates for children, families, and providers, committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for every family they serve. Their dedication is fueled by the incredible team at Speech Pathway, as they work tirelessly to decrease frustration and unlock the power of communication.
Emily Hathaway, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a distinguished speech-language pathologist with over 18 years of experience. Holding a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Oklahoma, Emily specializes in early childhood language, literacy, autism spectrum disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation, and pragmatic deficits. Her passion for early intervention and social groups is matched by her love for spending time with her family, enjoying reading, movies, and all things Disney.
Kent Hathaway is a talented fine artist with classical training in painting and sculpture. Returning to Mustang, Oklahoma, he channeled his passion into teaching art to elementary students, earning national recognition for both his innovative teaching methods and his students’ impressive achievements. Kent’s own artwork has garnered numerous accolades, including being named one of the Top 100 Digital Innovators in the U.S. and receiving the Oklahoma Superintendents Fine Arts Educator Award. His exceptional talent is further highlighted by his five consecutive Grand Prize awards in National Art Competitions.
Following his son Liam’s diagnosis of Autism, Kent transitioned his focus from art education to supporting children’s communication development. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), Kent plays a crucial role at Speech Pathway, guiding families through treatment and insurance processes while offering encouragement to staff and parents. His interests in Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and LEGO, along with his personal experience as an adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder, have deepened the couple’s understanding of neurodiversity.
In 2024, when the opportunity to purchase a We Rock the Spectrum franchise arose, it was a natural next step for the Hathaway family. Having been loyal customers of We Rock, they are thrilled to bring their unique experience and passion for neurodiversity to their community through this new venture.
